DODA, APRIL 12: The District Social Welfare Department in collaboration with the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), successfully conducted an Assessment Camp for Persons with Disabilities and Senior Citizens at Dak Banglow Jakyas, Sub-division Gandoh today.

The camp was held under two flagship schemes-the ADIP (Assistance to Disabled Persons for Purchase/Fitting of Aids and Appliances) Scheme and the Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana (RVY). The initiative aimed to identify eligible beneficiaries and assess their needs for assistive devices and prosthetic aids, with a focus on empowering individuals from remote and underserved areas.

A dedicated team of medical professionals and technical experts conducted thorough assessments to ensure each individual would receive customized and appropriate support devices. The camp witnessed active community participation, with around 60 individuals assessed and registered on the spot.

Local residents, beneficiaries and community leaders expressed appreciation for the initiative, highlighting its impact in enhancing mobility, independence, and dignity among the differently abled and elderly populations.
These outreach initiatives are vital in fostering inclusive growth, enhancing accessibility, and upholding the commitment to leaving no one behind in the journey of social and economic development.
