POONCH, APRIL 01: District Development Commissioner Poonch Ashok Kumar Sharma today chaired a Block Diwas-Public Outreach Programme at Dak Bunglow Ground, Mandi, to address public grievances and assess the developmental needs of the area.
The programme witnessed the presence of district and sectoral officers, including Assistant Commissioner Development, Tehsildar Mandi, Executive Engineers of PDD, Jal Shakti and PWD, Assistant Director Handicrafts, Assistant Director FCS&CA, ZEO Mandi, BMO Mandi and other concerned officers.
A large number of people from Mandi and adjoining areas participated and projected their grievances and demands. The issues raised primarily pertained to road connectivity, healthcare facilities, educational infrastructure, drinking water supply under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), new ration cards and implementation of various social security schemes.
Specific stress was laid on maintenance of key roads such as Mandi–Chandak Road, Arai Road and Mandi–Loran Road.
During the interaction, the DDC informed the public about the digitisation of revenue records and the Census-2027, urging people to extend full cooperation to the administration.
The District Development Commissioner gave a patient hearing to all grievances and assured that genuine concerns would be addressed on priority. He directed the concerned departments to ensure timely completion of road projects, redress the water supply and ration card issues, besides improvement of overall service delivery.
The Health Department was asked to organise a special medical camp at Mandi for specially-abled persons to facilitate issuance of disability certificates.
Emphasizing coordinated efforts among departments, the DDC instructed officers to closely monitor the issues raised and submit action taken reports within stipulated timelines.
