DC Kishtwar reviews status of departmental court cases

KISHTWAR, FEBRUARY 04: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Pankaj Kumar Sharma today reviewed the status of departmental court cases here at a meeting held at DC Office Complex.

The Deputy Commissioner inquired about the filing of replies and objections by concerned departments in cases pending before different courts. Emphasis was laid on cases where ex-parte proceedings have been initiated due to non-filing of replies or non-appearance before the Courts.

The performance of Standing Counsels was also reviewed, with focus on compliance with court directions, coordination with departments and safeguarding of Government interests.

The Deputy Commissioner stressed improved coordination between departments and the District Litigation Office to ensure robust legal representation.

Referring to the cases involving more than One Department, the DC asked for filing consolidated reply, unless there are specific directions from the Courts for filing of separate response by each department.

The modalities for expediting the cases involving huge financial implications, policy decisions, besides filing of appeals, revisions against the orders passed by the subordinate courts were also discussed in the meeting.

The Deputy Commissioner directed all concerned officers to give priority to court matters and ensure strict adherence to timelines to avoid adverse judicial outcomes. Regular monitoring and reviewing of court cases were emphasized to ensure accountability and effective disposal.

The meeting was attended by ADC, Pawan Kotwa; CEO KDA, Kaiser Bhawani; ACD, Manoj Kumar; SDM Paddar, Dr. Amit Kumar; SDM Chatroo, Nayeem Ur Rehman; ACP, Neeraj Sharma, CEO, Sanjay Dogra, ExEn Jal Shakti, Rohit Wadera; CMO, Dr. Yudhvir Singh Kotwal; DLO Abdul Majid Kelam, ExEn PMGSY Marwah and other Officers and concerned staff.
