SWD Kulgam Marks International Women’s Day

KULGAM, MARCH 07: District Social Welfare Office Kulgam today organized a programme to celebrate International Women’s Day at the Conference Hall of Mini-Secretariat Kulgam with the theme “Break the Bias–Empower Women.”

The celebration aimed to highlight the importance of women’s empowerment and gender equality in society.
The programme was presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Viqar Ahmad Giri, as the Chief Guest. District Social Welfare Officer Kulgam, Sonabar Altaf, TSWO and other officers were also present on the occasion.

During the event, a Signature Campaign was also conducted to raise awareness against gender bias and to encourage people to support the cause of women’s empowerment. Officers, officials, students, and members of the public actively participated in the campaign and pledged their commitment to promote equality, dignity, and respect for women.

Speaking on the occasion, the ADC emphasized the need to work collectively for creating an inclusive society where women are given equal opportunities in every field. He appreciated the efforts of the Social Welfare Department for organizing such meaningful programmes.

District Social Welfare Officer Kulgam also highlighted the importance of awareness initiatives in promoting gender equality.

The programme concluded with participants signing the pledge board as a symbol of their commitment to break the bias and empower women.
