SHOPIAN, MAY 02: As part of the ongoing 100-Day Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan, multiple awareness and engagement activities were organized across district Shopian today, to sensitize youth and the general public against drug abuse and promote a healthy lifestyle.
A series of poster exhibitions were conducted in various schools and Anganwadi Centres of the district.
Students actively participated by showcasing creative posters highlighting the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of making positive life choices.
These exhibitions served as an effective medium to spread awareness and encourage community participation in the anti-drug movement.
In continuation of the campaign, a yoga session was organized at PS School Wachi, Shopian, aimed at promoting physical fitness, mental well-being, and discipline among youth.Around 50 participants took part in the session.
The session emphasized the role of yoga in reducing stress, enhancing concentration, and building self-confidence. The activity was conducted by Yoga Instructor, Qulsooma Akbar.
Students expressed enthusiasm and committed to adopting yoga in their daily routine.
Meanwhile, the Horticulture Department Shopian conducted a series of awareness activities under Nasha Mukt Jammu and kashmir Abhiyan.These included pledge taking ceremonies in different nurseries across the district, awareness campaigns at multiple locations, and distribution of posters carrying the message “Say No to Drugs, Invest Your Energy in Horticulture Sector” in village Aglar Chirat.
Sports activities under the campaign included organisation of multiple cricket matches under the ongoing cosco tournament.
The events served as a platform to engage youth in positive pursuits while spreading awareness about the ill effects of drug abuse and reinforcing the message of a healthy, disciplined, and drug free society.
Posters were also pasted at many villages as part of the ongoing awareness drive, reinforcing the message of a drug free society.
