3rd National Lok Adalat: 690 Cases settled in Rajouri

RAJOURI, SEPTEMBER 13: As per the direction of NALSA, 3rd National Lok Adalat-225 was held today at District Court Complex, Rajouri and in all other Courts of the District under the Chairmanship of Rajinder Sapru, Chairman District legal Service Authority (Principal District & Sessions Judge) and guidance of Shama Sharma Sub-Judge/Secretary District Legal Services Authority. Two benches were constituted to take up all types of cases.
First bench was headed by Sudesh Sharma ( Additional District & Sessions Judge Rajouri) assisted by Javed Rana ( Chief Judicial Magistrate Rajouri) and. Khilat Mehmood Bhat Advocate, Second bench was headed by Rayaz Ahmed Choudhary (Sub-Judge Special Mobile Magistrate Rajouri), Shama Sharma, Sub-Judge/ Secretary District Legal Services Authority Rajouri and Shavika Gupta (District Mobile Magistrate ( Traffic), Rajouri. Similar benches were also constituted at Tehsil Level which were headed by the Presiding Officers of the respective Courts.

A total of 897 cases both Pre-Litigation and Post-Litigation were taken up by these benches out of which 690 Cases were disposed of.

An amount of Rs. 1,54,73,100 ( One Crore Fifty lakh seventy three thousand and one hundred only )was realized as compensation. From the court of Worthy Principal District & Sessions Judge, Rajouri & Additional District & Sessions Judge Rajouri, 26 MACT Cases were taken up out of which 26 were settled and amount of Rs. (One Crore thirty nine lakh and ninety thousand only) was awarded as compensation in those cases.

In the National Lok Adalat, representatives of Banks, Advocates of different Insurance companies, Bar members, PLVs, Staff members, Litigants and large numbers of people participated.
