SHOPIAN, AUGUST 04: An interview cum selection session for aspiring entrepreneurs under the Jammu and Kashmir Rural Employment Generation Programme (JKREGP) was held today at the Mini Secretariat, Shopian under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta.
The meeting witnessed active participation of all concerned officers and stakeholders, including the District Officer J&K Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) Shopian, Lead District Manager JK Bank Shopian, Cluster Head JK Bank Shopian, Superintendent ITI Shopian, representative from District Industries Centre (DIC) Shopian, and other officials associated with the implementation of the scheme.
A total of 117 cases were placed before the District Level Task Force Committee (DLTFC) for consideration. After thorough scrutiny and interaction, 84 candidates were approved for assistance under the scheme. The selected entrepreneurs will now move forward with their respective business ventures, contributing towards economic development and self-employment generation in the region.
DC commended the enthusiasm and innovative spirit of the candidates and encouraged them to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams with dedication and assured full support from the district administration and allied departments.
District Officer JKKVIB Shopian also emphasized the significance of JKREGP in creating sustainable employment opportunities and assured continuous support in implementation and handholding of the approved units.
JKREGP continues to be a vital platform for nurturing local enterprises and providing financial assistance and mentorship to first-time entrepreneurs across the region.
