DODA, JULY 22: In a decisive action against food safety violations, Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Doda Anil Kumar Thakur, as Adjudicating Officer, imposed a penalty of ₹54,000 (Fifty-four thousand only) on erring traders under the Food Safety and Standards Act (FSSA), 2006.

The action targeted establishments such as sweets, milk products and desi ghee outlets, which were found guilty of selling substandard food items and booked under the FSSA.

ADM Anil Kumar Thakur reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to public health. “We are committed to ensure safe and quality food for all. Any violation of food safety norms will be dealt with firmly,” he said.

The penalties aim to send a strong message to food business operators across the district to adhere to legal requirements and maintain the highest standards of quality and hygiene.

The administration has reiterated its zero-tolerance approach towards non-compliance, urging all food operators to strictly follow the provisions of the FSSA, 2006, to safeguard consumer health and well-being.
