ANANTNAG, AUGUST 20: Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Dr. Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat, today chaired a comprehensive meeting to review and finalise arrangements for the smooth observance of Eid-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) across the district.

The meeting was attended by ADCs Vikas Ahlawat and Dr. Muzamil Maqbool Beigh, SDMs, ACR, Tehsildars, CEO MCA, EOs of Municipal Councils, and representatives from Health, PDD, Jal Shakti, MVD, Animal Husbandry, Food Safety, FCS&CA, Legal Metrology and Fire & Emergency Services, besides representatives of the Waqf Board and other concerned departments.

The DC directed all departments to ensure the availability of requisite facilities, with augmentation wherever necessary, for devotees visiting Khiram Dargah Shareef, Kabamarg, Reshmool, Aishmuqam, Seer Hamdan and other shrines and mosques during the Milad days.

He stressed the need for adequate water supply, availability of essential commodities and uninterrupted power supply. He also directed the concerned agencies to ensure efficient traffic and transport management at critical locations and along important routes, besides providing adequate healthcare, sanitation, security and fire and emergency services around shrines and mosques.

The departments were further asked to ensure the presence of deputed staff at designated venues so that essential services remain available to devotees throughout the observance.

Emphasising close coordination among all line departments, the DC directed the designated teams to conduct special market-checking drives and inspections of food business operator (FBO) establishments during the holy days to ensure compliance with prescribed standards.

Concluding the meeting, the DC directed the SDMs to closely monitor preparations in their respective jurisdictions and undertake advance reviews to ensure that all necessary arrangements are in place and devotees are facilitated for the smooth and peaceful observance of the auspicious occasion.
