Russian Media

A lot is going on between Russia and Ukraine apart from the war which is currently going on even as the world powers seem to have failed in stopping Russia to continue with its bloody advance. The countries that were to be directly affected by the global sanctions imposed on Russia have started to tread their paths by siding and manoeuvring with the changing global landscapes. In a sense Russia-dependent countries are backing down, leaving the country to alone deal with the situation.

Russia on the other side is moving beyond conventional warfare and is employing the technology, media to put its side of the story—or to be precise, what is stated as the right side of the story. Several Russian outlets are presenting a different side of the war by projecting that the people of Ukraine were welcoming the Russian troopers even as the Ukrainian soldiers that were being held by the Russian forces were being treated in a better way. Russia has fired those who have been criticising Kremlin on the Ukraine move and has been doing everything to cripple the information system.

However, the situation is the total opposite which the world media is currently trying to put out for its audience. There are crimes such as attacking hospitals, schools that Russia is committing, but Russian media has been stating that the forces who are committing atrocities on the people of Ukraine are hiding in such places and that they have been left with no option but to strike all such spot. Russia is currently doing everything possible to create confusion and keep the global audience at bay, not letting them actually understand the problem and making no mistake in deciding that Russia was on the right side of the story.

The atmosphere that the Russian media is creating needs to be pierced through and for that the world media has to come out and play its vital, and important role. The world media along with the countries that propagate fairness and work for the upholding of rights need to make efforts to reach the other and actual side of the story and start telling the stories on the ground, buried under the rubble.

The media has to now play its fundamental role of informing people, making them have an opinion, letting them decide who is right and who is wrong in the war that now might be on the brink triggering another world war which not a single country can afford right now.
