KATHUA, AUGUST 06: As part of the Independence Day Celebrations 2025 and Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect Programme, the NSS Unit of Government Degree College (GDC) Ramkote organised an intra-college essay writing competition under the guidance of Principal Dr. Rakesh Kumar Koul. The theme was ‘Role of Education in Promoting Peace and National Unity’.
Participants expressed that education is a powerful tool to transform mindsets and bring peace, harmony and unity among citizens, contributing to the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. Students from BA Semesters 1ᵗʰ, 3ʳᵈ and 5ᵗʰ took part in the event with enthusiasm.
The competition was judged by Prof. Pankaj Nandan, IQAC Convener, and Prof. Suresh Chander, Cultural Committee Convener. Minakshi Devi (BA 5ᵗʰ Semester) secured first position, followed by Sulekha Devi (BA 5ᵗʰ Semester) and Janvi Devi in second and third positions respectively.
Coordinated by Prof. Anu Sharma, NSS PO, the event provided students with a platform to explore their creativity and contribute to nation-building through their writing skills.
