BHADERWAH, AUGUST 06: The Social Welfare Department, in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), organised an awareness programme at the TSWO Office, Bhaderwah. The event focused on the harmful effects of drug abuse and the various government schemes available for persons with disabilities.
The programme was held under the supervision of Tehsil Social Welfare Officer Shahnawaz Ahmad and Advocate Fareed.
Resource persons from the DLSA and the Tehsil Social Welfare Office addressed participants, highlighting the serious health, social and legal consequences of drug abuse. They stressed the need for prevention, early intervention and community support to address the growing threat of addiction among youth.
In addition, detailed information was provided on government welfare schemes for individuals with disabilities. Speakers encouraged eligible persons to avail the benefits of these initiatives to lead independent and dignified lives.
The programme aimed to educate the public, foster a drug-free environment and empower persons with disabilities by raising awareness about their rights and available support systems.
