SRINAGAR, AUGUST 15: Government College of Education (IASE), M.A. Road, Srinagar, celebrated the 79th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor at its campus, here.

The National Flag was ceremoniously hoisted by Prof. Sheikh Ajaz Bashir, Director Colleges, Higher Education Department, in the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Seema Naz, Nodal Principal of Kashmir Division Colleges, along with faculty members, non-teaching staff, and students.

In his address, Prof. Sheikh Ajaz Bashir highlighted India’s remarkable standing in the comity of nations, noting that the country enjoys an unparalleled reputation on the global stage. “Today is an important day to celebrate our achievements, honour our achievers, and reaffirm our commitment to the development of our great nation,” he said.

Reflecting on India’s journey since independence, he emphasized the country’s tremendous progress in science, technology, arts, and culture. “India has emerged as a shining example of democracy, diversity, and resilience, proudly standing as the largest democratic nation in the world,” he added.

Prof. (Dr.) Seema Naz, in her address, emphasized the vital role of education in shaping a progressive and inclusive society. She underlined the responsibility of educational institutions in nation-building and encouraged students to uphold the values of democracy, equality, and justice. “Educational institutions have a pivotal role to play in the development of the country,” she affirmed, urging both students and educators to contribute to building an informed and empowered society.
