DODA, SEPTEMBER 22: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Doda, Harvinder Singh today chaired a review meeting with the officers of the Irrigation and Jal Shakti Department to assess the current status of restoration works on Irrigation channels impacted by incessant rains and flash floods.
The DC reviewed in detail the condition of affected areas, progress of works under irrigation and flood control and the status of drainage systems. The department also presented an abstract of damages along with the present condition of the irrigation Kuls.
The DC Doda directed the concerned officers to ensure timely renovation and restoration of water facilities to ease the hardships of the public, particularly the farming community. He stressed that uninterrupted irrigation is vital for protecting the livelihoods of farmers who have suffered losses due to the recent calamity.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Planning Officer Doda, concerned Executive Engineers, AEEs, AEs, JEs and other Officers and officials of the Irrigation and Jal Shakti Department.
