JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 24: The NSS volunteers of Government College for Women Parade Ground today visited Old Age Home as part of the community service activities initiated under the aegis of Sewa Parv-2025 and to mark the NSS Day. The program was held under the guidance of the NSS Programme Officers with the objective to spread the message of empathy, care, and social responsibility.
The volunteers interacted with the elderly residents and spent quality time listening to their experiences, stories, and needs. They engaged them in light cultural activities, songs, and conversations, which brought smiles to their faces and created a warm atmosphere. The volunteers also presented fruits and essential items to the senior citizens as a gesture of compassion and solidarity.
The visit not only brought joy to the elderly but also served as a valuable life lesson for the students.
The event concluded with words of encouragement by the NSS Programme Officers Dr Gurpreet Kour and Dr Atiya Syedwho emphasized that such activities embody the true spirit of the National Service Scheme, which is based on the principle of “Not Me But You.”
