UDHAMPUR, SEPTEMBER-29:- As part of the ongoing Sewa Parv, a mega awareness programme was organised today for laborers and Workers here at the Office of the Assistant Labour Commissioner Udhampur.
The event featured a health camp, providing free check-ups and medicines, along with participation of banks for registrations under social security schemes. The participants were facilitated by a CSC and BOCW help desks for enrolments. Labour Cards were also issued to beneficiaries by the Deputy Labour Commissioner Jammu Sukhpal Singh.
On this occasion, financial assistance worth Rs. 20 lakh was sanctioned for lower education, while an amount of Rs. 93,000 was released in two cases of higher education. A plantation drive was also undertaken as part of the programme.
The event witnessed active and enthusiastic participation from trade unions, labour unions, Chamber of Commerce, Beopar Mandal, Hotel Association, local NGOs and a large gathering of workers and members of the general public making the programme a grand success.
