DLSA Budgam holds review meeting with LADCs

BUDGAM, OCTOBER 08: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Budgam today convened a review meeting with all Legal Aid Defence Counsels (LADCs) at the office chamber of the Secretary, DLSA Budgam.

The meeting, chaired by Secretary, DLSA Budgam, Nusrat Ali Hakak aimed to assess the performance of the Legal Aid Defence Counsels and to ensure adherence to the standards of service delivery.

The meeting was attended by Chief Legal Aid Defence Counsel, Lateef Ahmad Khan, Deputy Legal Aid Defence Counsel, Nazeer Ahmad Wagay and Assistant Legal Aid Defence Counsels.

During the session, the counsels shared their experiences, discussed challenges encountered in the field, and offered constructive suggestions to further strengthen the delivery of legal aid services. Key points of discussion included ensuring quality legal representation, expediting the disposal of pending cases, and improving coordination among the counsels to enhance access to justice.

Nusrat Ali Hakak emphasized the importance of providing efficient, accessible, and high-quality legal aid services. She reaffirmed DLSA Budgam’s commitment to delivering free and effective legal assistance to the underprivileged and marginalized sections of society.

The meeting concluded with a shared resolve to streamline legal aid mechanisms and improve the overall efficiency of legal service delivery across the district.
