BANDIPORA, NOVEMBER 22: In a significant boost to healthcare infrastructure in the border area of Gurez, a Blood Storage Unit was today formally commissioned at CHC Dawar.
To mark the commissioning, a Blood Donation Camp was organised at SDH Dawar which was attended by MLA Gurez, Nazir Ahmad khan, along with volunteers and health officials.
With full availability of equipment, logistics, infrastructure, trained manpower and a solar power backup system worth ₹12.00 lakh has also been arranged to ensure smooth and uninterrupted functioning of the facility. The Blood Storage Unit is expected to play a critical role during medical emergencies, particularly in winter when movement to other healthcare centres becomes challenging.
The facility will ensure timely blood transfusions and support emergency obstetric care within SDH Gurez, under the supervision of the BMO Gurez and his team of medical officers, paramedics and specialists.
