Directs departments to ensure seamless, secure, and well-coordinated celebrations

JAMMU, DECEMBER 10: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar and Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone, Bhim Sen Tuti today reviewed the Republic Day- 2026 arrangements.

The meeting focused on ensuring all the requisite arrangements for smooth conduct of the National Festival to be organised at MA Stadium Jammu and districts of Jammu Division.

Detailed discussion was held on arrangements for comprehensive security, traffic plan, parking spaces, frisking, sanitation, barricading, seating, Shehnai Vadan, logistics for contingents, healthcare, bus services and cultural presentations.

The Divisional Commissioner asked all the nodal officers and departments to coordinate for a smooth, well-organized celebration at all the venues, issuing directives for timely completion of all preparations and amenities for public convenience.

The Div Com informed that the functions related to Republic Day celebration will be organized at District, Sub-division and block level and special emphasis will be laid on the celebration of National Song Vande Matram.

While taking stock of arrangements, Div Com directed the HoDs to make all the respective arrangements including repair works, whitewash, parking facilities, sanitation, decoration, security and convenient entry into the venue for the public after proper frisking.

Each head of the department was directed to appoint nodal officers to meticulously coordinate the preparations for the Republic Day Parade-2026.

The Divisional Commissioner emphasized on arranging buses for ferrying the students to the stadium and wide publicity of parking spaces and public entry points well in advance to avoid inconvenience to the general public.
Taking review of the cultural activities planned for the National Event, special focus was laid on celebrating the cultural heritage, patriotic ethos and regional diversity.

Chief Conservator of Forests, DIG Armed JK, DIG JSK, Deputy Commissioners, Commissioner JMC, Director Information, Director School Education besides senior officers of Police, Army, CRPF, BSF, SSB, Air Force, Jal Shakti, JPDCL, PWD, JMC, Health Services, Information, Education, Cultural Academy, Youth Services and Sports, Hospitality & Protocol and other concerned departments were present.
