POONCH, DECEMBER 20: The second day of Good Governance Week, under the nationwide initiative “Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore” was observed today across district Poonch.
Wide-ranging activities were held across sub-divisions and tehsils including NSSB, Surankote, Lassana, Bufliaz, Loran, Mendhar, Mandi, Mankote, Sathra, Balakote and Haveli.
The day was marked by extensive field visits, inspections and public outreach programmes aimed at strengthening grassroots governance.
The Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs), Block Development Officers (BDOs), Tehsildars along with officers from all line departments including Banks and Police, conducted public interactions in their respective jurisdictions where they actively listened to public grievances and concerns.
During the day-long programme, the public raised different issues related to developmental needs and civic amenities. Officers from line departments, BDOs, ABP Fellows and others patiently listened to public grievances, documented genuine issues and provided on-the-spot assistance wherever possible.
Several online services were delivered during the programme and people were made aware about the government schemes and their benefits.
The Agriculture and Horticulture departments also disseminated information regarding departmental schemes, subsidies and beneficiary-oriented initiatives.
A special medical camp was organised at the Aspirational Block Mankote. The health camp provided multiple services including screening of blood pressure (hypertension), diabetes, tuberculosis, hemoglobin (anemia) testing, antenatal check-ups (ANC) and registration for Vay Vandana Cards and PM-JAY beneficiaries.
The activities undertaken on the second day of Good Governance Week reflect the district administration’s proactive approach towards responsive governance, improved public service delivery and strengthening citizen engagement at the grassroots level in district Poonch.
