ANANTNAG, DECEMBER 30: A vibrant Women Entrepreneurship and Self Help Group (SHG) Mela was organised in Anantnag to promote women-led enterprises and strengthen grassroots entrepreneurship under Mission YUVA.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from SHG members across the district and showcased the growing spirit of self-reliance among women.
The Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Anantnag, Sandeep Singh Bali, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Addressing the gathering, Sandeep Singh Bali encouraged SHG members to actively avail the benefits of Mission YUVA, He appreciated the efforts of SHG women for their determination, innovation, and contribution to local economic development.
Speaking on the occasion, Employment Officer, Rayees Iqbal, highlighted Mission YUVA as a transformative initiative aimed at supporting women entrepreneurs through financial assistance, capacity building, and market linkage.
District Programme Manager (DPM), NRLM, Shireen Shafi, assured that SHG members will be systematically sensitized about Mission YUVA through Udhyam Jagriti programmes. She emphasized that these awareness drives will help SHG women understand the initiative in detail and fully benefit from the opportunities provided under the mission.
During the mela, SHG members showcased their products through exhibition stalls, displaying a wide range of items including food products, handicrafts, garments, and other locally produced goods. Several women entrepreneurs also shared their success stories, inspiring fellow SHG members to scale up their enterprises.
All line departments participated actively in the event, setting up stalls and showcasing their respective entrepreneurial and livelihood initiatives, reflecting strong inter-departmental convergence in support of women entrepreneurship.
More than 400 SHG members from different blocks of the district participated in the mela, making it a grand success and a significant platform for networking, learning, and market exposure.
The event reaffirmed the district administration’s commitment towards empowering women, strengthening SHGs, and fostering a culture of entrepreneurship through Mission YUVA.
