DC Ramban chairs public grievances redressal camp at Panchayat Kanthi

RAMBAN, DECEMBER 31: Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan today convened a Public Grievances Redressal Camp here at Panchayat Kanthi.

A team of officers representing different departments was present to take note of the public issues and initiate measures to resolve the same. Departmental stalls were also established at the venue to provide on-the-spot services and disseminate information regarding government schemes.

The Deputy Commissioner gave a patient hearing to the grievances and demands raised by the local residents. Most of the issues of public importance were resolved on the spot, while matters requiring further examination were referred to the concerned departments with clear directions for time-bound redressal.

The officers present included Assistant Commissioner Development, Tehsildar, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Education Officer, Executive Engineers PWD, PMGSY and Jal Shakti, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, District Social Welfare Officer, Block Development Officer Ramban, besides officers from various line departments.

Responding to the demands, the Deputy Commissioner directed the Executive Engineer Jal Shakti Department to expedite the completion of under construction Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) projects and ensure proper functioning of existing water supply schemes in the area.

The Chief Education Officer was asked to take measures to make the Girls Hostel at Kanthi functional from the current academic session to benefit the girl students. He was further asked to rationalise the teaching staff to address shortage in the schools of the area.

Further, the PWD Engineers were directed to expedite ongoing road construction works to provide connectivity to the people. The Executive Engineer concerned and the Tehsildar were instructed to visit Kanthi market to arrange parking space on the already acquired land for the proposed road project.

Additionally, the Deputy Commissioner directed the AYUSH Department to shift the AYUSH Wellness Centre to the newly constructed building for its effective functioning.

Earlier, officers from different departments sensitised the public about ongoing welfare and developmental schemes and provided necessary guidance and handholding to eligible beneficiaries for availing benefits.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner also inspected the ongoing developmental works in the area and addressed bottlenecks to ensure smooth and timely execution of the same.
