JAMMU, DECEMBER 31: The Department of Horticulture Planning and Marketing on Wednesday organised a one-day workshop cum awareness camp for farmers to familiarize them about the departmental schemes including HADP, JKCIP and SPG (Support for Packaging and Grading) here at the Conference Hall, Kissan Ghar, Narwal, Jammu.
main objective of the workshop was the capacity building of beneficiaries of RBSH, PGL, Refer Van, cooperative societies as well as FPOs to enable them to obtain better remunerative prices for their farm produce and related trades after availing scheme benefits.
The workshop commenced with a lecture on “Overview of agri products and services and support for packaging and grading” delivered by Area Marketing Officer Ramban Tehsin Iqbal Chib. Grading and Marketing Inspector Rajeev Sharma spoke on “Agri branding and HADP” followed by another lecture on “e-NAM operation and JKCIP” delivered by Grading and Marketing Inspector Vishal Gupta.
The programme witnessed huge participation from the beneficiaries of HADP and Support for Packaging and Grading schemes, cooperatives as well as FPOs from across Jammu Division.
The welcome address and vote of thanks were presented by Deputy Director Ayaz Ahmad Natnoo. He expressed gratitude to the experts for delivering lectures and hoped that the learning would help beneficiaries of various schemes, cooperative societies and FPOs to perform in an efficient and effective manner and secure better remunerative prices for their farm produce.
