RAMBAN, FEBRUARY 04: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan, today chaired a comprehensive meeting to review the overall functioning of the Revenue Department.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Varunjeet Singh Charak; Assistant Commissioner Revenue Shokat Hayat Mattoo; SDM Banihal Mohammad Naseeb Bajran; SDM Gool Imtiaz Ahmed; SDM Ramsoo Sayad Mazahir Hussain Shah, besides Tehsildars, Block Development Officers and other Revenue officials.

During the meeting, detailed deliberations were held on key issues, including updating of old revenue records, cadastral mapping, generation and distribution of Property Cards under the SVAMITVA Scheme, disposal of court cases, transfer of land for installation of 4G towers, timely submission of compliance reports in court cases, utilization of funds released under Revenue Capex for the year 2025–26 and timely execution of summons.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the Tehsildars and BDOs to ensure that no residential or commercial construction is allowed in their respective jurisdictions without prior approval from the competent authorities, emphasizing strict enforcement of land and building regulations.

He further directed the Tehsildars to extend necessary assistance to BDOs in motivating beneficiaries to commence and complete construction of their PMAY houses without delay, ensuring timely achievement of housing targets.

The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the public services being delivered by the Revenue Department and conducted a tehsil-wise assessment of the progress in all other assignments.
Appreciating the efforts of Revenue staff in the digitization of revenue records, the Deputy Commissioner stressed the need to maintain accuracy, transparency and accountability while carrying out the exercise.

Emphasizing timely and transparent public service delivery, the Deputy Commissioner instructed officers to promptly address public grievances and reiterated the importance of citizen-friendly functioning of all revenue and administrative units to strengthen public trust and enhance overall administrative efficiency.

Meanwhile, the Additional Deputy Commissioner also suggested various measures to further improve public grievance redressal mechanisms and streamline service delivery.
