BHADERWAH, OCTOBER 10: As part of the Special Voter Enrolment Drive launched under the campaign “No Voter to be Left Behind” by Chief Electoral Officer Jammu & Kashmir, a voter awareness programme was organised at Government Higher Secondary School Boys to promote voter registration and electoral awareness among students.
The campaign is being conducted across Jammu & Kashmir on October 10 and 11, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at polling stations, with the objective of ensuring that every eligible citizen is enrolled in the electoral roll.
The programme at Government GHSS Boys Bhaderwah was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Sunil Butyal, in his capacity as Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) and the Tehsildar Kamalpreet Singh as Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO). The School Principal Dr. Kailash Kumar was also present on the occasion along with approximately 100 students.
The students were sensitised to the importance of voter registration and informed that those attaining the age of 18 years by February 2027 should prepare for registering themselves as voters, in accordance with the applicable electoral registration guidelines.
The ADC highlighted the significance of democratic participation and urged students to become responsible and aware citizens.
The Tehsildar also appealed to the participants to spread awareness about voter enrolment and act as Voter Awareness Ambassadors, taking the message to every section of the community.
Principal Dr. Kailash Kumar Chandel encouraged the students to ensure their own voter registration and motivate their families, friends and members of the community to participate in the voter enrolment campaign.
