BANDIPORA, MARCH 11: As part of the ongoing awareness activities under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA), an awareness programme was conducted at High School Trigam, Sumbal on Wednesday to sensitise students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of leading a healthy and responsible life.
The programme was organised with the School Education Department as the nodal department, in collaboration with the Health Department, Youth Services & Sports (YS&S), Excise & Taxation Department and the Social Welfare Department.
During the programme, students were sensitised about the dangers of substance abuse and its adverse impact on health, society and the future of young people. Resource persons highlighted the importance of awareness, prevention and collective community efforts in combating drug abuse.
Speakers emphasised that educational institutions play a crucial role in spreading awareness among youth and encouraging them to stay away from drugs.
On the occasion, students were also encouraged to act as ambassadors of the anti-drug campaign and spread the message of a drug-free society among their peers and communities.
