DODA, MARCH 12: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Doda Krishan Lal, who is also District Election Officer (DEO), today reviewed the preparedness and pre-revision activities for the Panchayat Electoral Roll (PER)-2026 revision at a meeting held in the VC Room of the DC Office Complex.
The DEO directed the officers to ensure timely completion of all preparatory tasks for the smooth conduct of the upcoming electoral roll revision across the district.
Emphasizing coordinated efforts, the DEO asked the concerned officers to complete the preparatory process in a systematic and time-bound manner.
The Assistant Commissioner Panchayat (ACP) and Block Development Officers (BDOs) were directed to download, convert and upload the Draft/Final Panchayat Electoral Roll (Photo/Non-Photo) at the AERO level and submit the same to the District Panchayat Election Officer (DPEO) office for printing and uploading on the official website.
The DEO further directed the BDOs to submit daily progress reports of the PER revision to the DPEO office through the ACP. “The BDOs will also function as Nodal Officers for SVEEP activities at the block and the Panchayat level in coordination with the Education, Social Welfare and Health Departments to encourage public participation in the electoral process,” the meeting decided.
It was informed that the revision exercise will be carried out in phased manner for different blocks of the district. During the revision process, claims and objections received from voters will be digitized at the Panchayat level on a daily basis, while the progress shall be monitored both online and offline at the offices of AERO, ERO and DPEO.
The meeting was attended by ACR Ashraf Parvaiz, ACD Din Mohammad Afaqi, Account Officer DC Office, Election Naib Tehsildar and other concerned officials. SDMs, Tehsildars and BDOs of the district participated virtually in the meeting.
