SRINAGAR, MARCH 28: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Srinagar, in collaboration with the School Education Department, today organized a series of awareness programmes at Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GGHSS), Chanapora, Srinagar.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of Haq Nawaz Zargar, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (Pr. District & Sessions Judge), and under the supervision of Tabassum Qadir, Secretary, DLSA Srinagar.
The awareness sessions were aimed at sensitizing students on important legal issues and promoting awareness of their rights and responsibilities. Adv. Suhaila Ali, Panel Lawyer, elaborated on the NALSA (ASHA – Awareness, Support, Help and Action) Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for elimination of child marriage, 2025, highlighting the legal framework and the role of youth in preventing such practices.
Assistant LADC, also addressed the students and delivered an informative session on the provisions of the Dowry Prohibition Act, emphasizing the need to eradicate the social evil of dowry and encouraging students to act as responsible citizens.
The programme witnessed active participation from students and faculty, reflecting a keen interest in legal awareness initiatives. The initiative forms part of DLSA Srinagar’s ongoing efforts to promote legal literacy and empower young minds.
