BANDIPORA, MARCH 28: As part of the ongoing celebrations of Vande Mataram Phase-II (23rd–30th March 2026), the NSS Units of HKM Degree College Bandipora organized a Painting Competition on Saturday in the college campus on the theme “India’s Freedom Struggle”.
The event was aimed at creating awareness among students about the sacrifices and contributions of freedom fighters.
The program commenced with introductory remarks by the Principal, Prof. Suresh Kumar Dogra, who highlighted the significant role played by the great freedom fighters in India’s struggle for independence. He encouraged the students to draw inspiration from their courage, patriotism, and dedication towards the nation.
A large number of NSS volunteers and students enthusiastically participated in the competition and beautifully depicted various aspects of India’s freedom movement through their artistic expressions. The event provided a platform for students to showcase their creativity while deepening their understanding of the nation’s rich history.
The program was efficiently coordinated by the NSS Programme Officers, Prof. Irfan Ahmad Wagay and Dr. Wasia Hamid, who appreciated and congratulated the participants for their active involvement and commendable efforts. They also emphasized the importance of such activities in nurturing a sense of patriotism and social responsibility among the youth.
