BHADERWAH, MARCH 28: A Sub-Divisional Level NCORD Committee meeting was held at the office chamber of the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Bhaderwah Sunil Kumar Bhutyal to review and strengthen measures against drug abuse and narcotic trafficking in the region.
Detailed discussions were held on the identification and destruction of contraband crops and wild growth. Emphasis was also laid on the re-verification of “Nasha Mukt Panchayats” and adopting strict deterrent measures against drug peddlers.
The ADC stressed the need to enhance awareness among students through counseling and educational campaigns. Directions were issued to ensure strict control over the misuse of prescription drugs, along with mandatory CCTV compliance in sensitive areas and institutions. The display of awareness pamphlets in government offices and public places was also highlighted as a key step in spreading anti-drug messages.
Further, the participation of NCC and NSS units in awareness drives and institutional checking was encouraged to strengthen community involvement in the fight against drugs.
The meeting was attended by the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Tehsildar Bhalla, the heads of Boys and Girls schools, Child Development Project Officer (CDPO), Executive Officer Municipal Committee, BDO, TSWO and officials from other departments.
