DODA, APRIL 01: The District Industries Centre (DIC), under the aegis of the Industries & Commerce Department, organized a series of awareness camps on the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Scheme and other key initiatives aimed at promoting Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in District Doda.

The programmes were conducted under the guidance and overall supervision of Deputy Commissioner Krishan Lal and General Manager, DIC Mohammad Ashfaq.

The awareness camps were held at Government ITI Doda for Blocks Kastigarh and Ghat on March 30, 2026 and at Government Polytechnic College Doda for Block Bhagwah on March 31, 2026. The events witnessed enthusiastic participation from aspiring entrepreneurs, existing unit holders, members of the business community and students.

Special emphasis was laid on youth engagement and empowerment, encouraging young participants to explore entrepreneurship as a viable and sustainable career option.

Detailed presentations were delivered on the RAMP Scheme, highlighting its focus on strengthening MSMEs through improved access to finance, enhanced market linkages, capacity building and institutional support. A dedicated session on MSME Health Clinics informed participants about assistance available for stressed and sick units, including financial restructuring, revival strategies and early intervention mechanisms to prevent industrial distress.

The camps also covered various flagship schemes and initiatives, including the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), Self-employment and credit-linked schemes, Central Sector MSME schemes, incentives under the J&K Industrial Policy and startup and innovation support programmes.

Participants were also sensitized to reforms under the Business Reform Action Plan (BRAP), including the operationalization of MSME Health Clinics, establishment of Startup Cells and appointment of Relationship Officers (ROs) to facilitate investments above ₹50 crore. It was further informed that a dedicated officer has been nominated by DIC to provide end-to-end support for such investment proposals.

The participants, particularly youth and students, were guided on project formulation, identification of skill-based enterprises, financial literacy, digital platforms and access to institutional credit. Awareness was also generated regarding Udyam Registration, online services and initiatives aimed at improving ease of doing business. The programmes also highlighted the importance of innovation, local resource utilization and sustainable enterprise development in boosting the district’s economy.

The programmes also featured interactive sessions during which participants raised queries that were addressed comprehensively by the resource persons. The General Manager DIC reiterated the department’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship, promoting skill development and providing continuous support to both new and existing entrepreneurs in the district.
