UDHAMPUR, APRIL 25: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Minga Sherpa today chaired a review meeting to assess the progress of the ongoing revision of the Panchayat Electoral Roll with reference to April 1, 2026 as the qualifying date.
A detailed discussion was held on the status of form collection across Panchayat constituencies, total forms received vis-à-vis total draft electors and the number of forms already punched into the system.
The DC also reviewed the pace of the exercise and stressed the need to synchronize field-level collection with data entry work to avoid any backlog. He emphasized the importance of maintaining an accurate and updated electoral roll to ensure a free, fair and transparent electoral process at the grassroots level.
Officers were directed to undertake meticulous verification to facilitate inclusion of all eligible voters while ensuring deletion of duplicate and ineligible entries.
Officers were instructed to intensify awareness efforts so that eligible citizens actively participate in the revision process.
