BANDIPORA, APRIL 29: Continuing its sustained efforts under the ongoing 100-Day Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan, a series of awareness programmes, skits, pledge ceremonies, and student engagement activities were conducted across various educational institutions of Bandipora district.
Students and staff of several institutions actively participated in pledge-taking ceremonies, reaffirming their commitment to eradicate drug abuse and promote a healthy, drug-free society.
Creative awareness initiatives formed a key highlight of the campaign, with multiple schools organizing impactful skit presentations depicting the harmful effects of substance abuse.
Institutions including PM SHRI Girls High School Sumbal, HSS Shahgund, HSS Nowgam, HSS Shadipora, HSS Gadakhud, HS Achoora, HS Ketson, and HSS Chuntimulla staged thought-provoking performances highlighting the physical, mental, and social consequences of drug addiction. The skits effectively conveyed messages about making informed choices, resisting peer pressure, and adopting a healthy lifestyle.
In Sumbal and adjoining areas, primary and secondary school students actively participated in awareness activities, including short skits and pledge ceremonies, demonstrating enthusiasm and a strong sense of responsibility towards building a drug-free society.
In addition to cultural activities, essay writing competitions and sports events such as Kabaddi were organized in institutions like HS Garoora, engaging students in constructive and awareness-driven participation under the campaign.
The district observed widespread participation and community engagement, reinforcing the commitment towards achieving the goal of a drug-free Bandipora.
