KATHUA, MAY 02: Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rajesh Sharma today chaired a review meeting of concerned officers at the DC Office Complex to assess the performance and progress under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) across the district.
The meeting held a detailed discussion on the implementation status of different HADP components with focus on Daksh Kisan portal enrolment, credit linkage, J&K Competitiveness Improvement Project (JKCIP), Kisan Khidmat Ghar (KKG), tracking mechanisms, farmer outreach initiatives etc. It was informed that a total of 41,428 courses have been enrolled by farmers across Kathua on the Daksh Kisan portal, out of which 35,662 courses have been successfully completed.
The Deputy Commissioner laid special emphasis on enrolment of all eligible farmers on the Daksh Kisan portal so that they can effectively access benefits under different components of the HADP scheme. He directed the concerned officers to intensify awareness campaigns at the grassroots level and ensure that no eligible farmer is left out of the ambit of the programme. He stressed the need for better coordination among departments to facilitate smooth registration, training completion and timely benefit delivery.
The meeting also decided to take all Farmer Organizations (FOs) on board for wider outreach and effective handholding of farmers, particularly in remote and rural areas.
The DC said that active involvement of FOs would strengthen farmer mobilization, besides enhancing awareness regarding various agriculture and allied sector interventions being implemented under HADP.
Reviewing the status of credit linkage, the Deputy Commissioner asked the concerned departments and banking institutions to work in close coordination for timely sanction and disbursement of financial assistance to beneficiaries. He also stressed on regular monitoring of JKCIP, strengthening of services through Kisan Khidmat Ghars and robust tracking of progress under all verticals.
The meeting was attended by CPO Ranjeet Thakur; Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Chief Sheep Husbandry Officer, AD Fisheries, Dy Registrar Cooperatives, Lead District Manager, officers of allied departments and other concerned officials.
