SAMBA, MAY 09: Under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority and in compliance with the directions of the J&K Legal Services Authority, the District Legal Services Authority Samba today organized the 2nd National Lok Adalat- 2026 here at District Court Complex.
The National Lok Adalat was inaugurated by Chairman DLSA and Principal District & Sessions Judge Ashwani Kumar Sharma.
Six benches were constituted for the smooth conduct of the Lok Adalat proceedings and amicable settlement of cases.
Chairman DLSA Ashwani Kumar Sharma headed the first bench and assisted by Advocate Subash Singh Sambyal; Bench No. 2 comprised of Additional District & Sessions Judge Arvind Sharma along with Advocate Ganesh Sharma; Bench No. 3 consisted of Chief Judicial Magistrate Smriti Sharma and Advocate Ajay Gupta; Bench No. 4 comprised of Additional Special Mobile Magistrate Rashi Verma and Advocate Hitesh Sharma; Bench No. 5 was executed by Munsiff Ritika Jamwal and Advocate Tania Pargal; while Bench No. 6 comprised of Additional Munsiff Kritika Sethi and Advocate Rahul Sambyal.
Besides judicial benches, suitable benches were also constituted by the Deputy Commissioner from the administrative side for taking up and disposing of compoundable matters pending before various administrative authorities.
The Lok Adalat dealt with matters pertaining to MACT cases, land acquisition, traffic challans, Section 138 NI Act cases, criminal compoundable matters, civil cases and pre-litigation matters.
In all 222 cases were taken up, out of which 86 cases were amicably settled, resulting in a settlement amount of Rs. 1,20,80,200/-.
