JAMMU, MAY 13: Mission Shakti Jammu District Hub for Empowerment of Women Jammu, Department of Social Welfare J&K, organised a vibrant Sports Event under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao at Government Higher Secondary School Dansal.
The aim was to encourage discipline, confidence, healthy and drug-free lifestyle among youth through sports and positive engagement.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from girl students, who displayed remarkable energy, sportspersonship and team spirit throughout the competitions.
Addressing the gathering, District Mission Coordinator Mission Shakti Shagun Manchanda highlighted the significant role of sports in shaping resilient, disciplined and responsible youth. “Active participation in sports and extracurricular activities serve as a powerful means to steer young minds away from substance abuse while promoting confidence, determination, leadership, and social responsibility,” she maintained. She further reaffirmed Mission Shakti’s commitment towards organising impactful awareness programmes focused on empowerment, gender sensitisation and building a healthier and addiction-free society. A badminton match emerged as the highlight of the programme, with Lecturer Manoj Kumar captivating the audience through his lively and engaging commentary, which added great excitement to the sporting atmosphere.
The programme was supervised by the School Principal Veena Kumari along with faculty members Shafqal Mohammad, Jyoti Jasrotia, Suman Sharma, Suneel Kumar, Akhil Sharma, Shaista Gul and Sonika Sharma.
The event concluded with the felicitation of winners of the badminton match by Mission Shakti, leaving students inspired to embrace sports as a pathway towards personal growth, confidence and positive social change.
