KUPWARA, MAY 15: Mission Director, Mission Dairy Development J&K and Mentor Secretary for implementation of the Vibrant Villages Programme (VVP) in District Kupwara, Narinder Singh Bali today visited Lolab Sub-Division to review the developmental plans and initiatives being undertaken by various line departments for the holistic development of Dardpora village under the Government of India’s ambitious Vibrant Villages Programme.
Upon his arrival, the Mission Director chaired a comprehensive review meeting with sectoral and sub-divisional level officers at Government Degree College Sogam. Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Lolab, Mudasir Ahmad, was also present during the meeting.
During the review, the Mission Director sought detailed feedback from officers of various line departments regarding their proposed interventions and action plans aimed at ensuring the overall socio-economic development of Dardpora, one of the identified Vibrant Villages in the district.
Addressing the officers, Narinder Singh Bali stated that the Vibrant Villages Programme is a flagship initiative of the Government of India envisioned to ensure inclusive and sustainable development of far-flung border villages by improving infrastructure, livelihood opportunities, essential services, and quality of life for residents living in remote areas.
He emphasized the need for close coordination, proactive planning, and dedicated efforts among all departments to ensure the effective and timely implementation of the programme in Dardpora village. He further stressed the importance of adopting renewable energy solutions, particularly solar energy and biogas initiatives, to promote self-reliance and sustainable development in the district, especially in Vibrant Villages located in border areas.
Later, the Mission Director, accompanied by sectoral and field level officers, visited Dardpora village where he chaired a joint interaction programme with local residents and officials. During the interaction, senior citizens and prominent members of the community highlighted several developmental concerns and demands pertaining to healthcare facilities, road and public infrastructure, education, employment generation, and other basic amenities.
The Mission Director assured the local residents that their genuine concerns and developmental aspirations would be taken into consideration for appropriate action under the Vibrant Villages Programme, with the objective of transforming Dardpora into a model village through coordinated developmental interventions.
