DC Shopian reviews arrangements for Mega Padyatra scheduled on May 23 in district

SHOPIAN, MAY 15: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta today convened a meeting here at Mini-Secretariat Shopian to review and finalize arrangements for the forthcoming Mega Padyatra scheduled to be held in the district on May, 23, 2026.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held regarding security arrangements, traffic regulation, sanitation, medical facilities, drinking water, electricity, deployment of magistrates, seating, refreshment, parking facilities and other necessary arrangements to ensure smooth and successful conduct of the event.

All necessary arrangements were finalised and responsibility fixed among departments. The Deputy Commissioner directed all concerned departments to work in close coordination and ensure timely completion of assigned responsibilities. He stressed on providing all essential facilities for the convenience of participants.

The DC emphasized that adequate medical teams, ambulances and emergency response mechanisms should remain available during the event. He also directed concerned agencies to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply at designated locations.

Officers from various departments attended the meeting and apprised the chair about the preparedness and measures being put in place for the successful conduct of the Padyatra.

Among others, the meeting was attended by SSP, Shopian, Mushtaq Ahmed Choudhary; ADDC, Dr. Nasir Ahmed Lone; ADC, Dr. Zakir Hussain Faaz; Principal,GDC Shopian, Prof.Tariq Ahmad; ACR, Shakoor Ahmed Dar; SDM, Zainapora, Bilal Ahmed; district/sectoral officers, tehsildars, BDOs and other concerned.
