DC Poonch reviews arrangements for Eid-ul-Azha

POONCH, MAY 15: Deputy Commissioner Poonch Ashok Kumar Sharma today chaired a meeting to review the arrangements for the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha in the district.

The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police Shafket Hussain Bhat; Additional Deputy Commissioner Tahir Mustafa Malik; Assistant Commissioner Revenue Muhammad Sayeed; Assistant Commissioner Revenue Shakeel Ahmed; Chief Medical Officer, Chief Agriculture & Horticulture Officer, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Executive Engineer JPDCL, Tehsildar Haveli, Assistant Director Food Safety, Assistant Controller Legal Metrology, Incharge Fire & Emergency Services, religious heads and prominent citizens.

At the outset, the religious leaders and prominent citizens projected various issues and suggestions regarding the Eid arrangements. They demanded uninterrupted power and water supply, notification of rates, sanitation, traffic management, medical facilities, cleanliness, fire and emergency services and other arrangements for the smooth celebration of Eid-ul-Azha.

The Deputy Commissioner briefed the participants about the arrangements being put in place by the district administration for the smooth conduct of the festival. He assured that all necessary arrangements related to uninterrupted power and water supply, sanitation, traffic regulation, medical facilities, cleanliness, fire and emergency services and establishment of sale points would be ensured well in advance.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the Tehsildar and concerned teams to intensify market checking drives and ensure strict action against overcharging and black marketing of essential commodities.

Senior Superintendent of Police Shafket Hussain Bhat informed the meeting that elaborate security arrangements would be made across the district to maintain a peaceful and secure atmosphere during the festivities.

The Deputy Commissioner urged all departments to work in close coordination to ensure smooth, peaceful and hassle-free celebration of Eid-ul-Azha across the district.
