SHOPIAN, OCTOBER 05: The Sankalp Hub for Empowerment of Women, Mission Shakti, Shopian, today organized an awareness and sensitisation programme under the banner of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) at Government High School Zampathri, Keller, Shopian.
The initiative aimed to sensitise students regarding the safety, dignity, and rights of women and girls.
During the programme, the District Mission Coordinator, Sankalp Hub for Empowerment of Women, Mission Shakti, Shopian, sensitized students about SHe-Box (Sexual Harassment Electronic Box) and its vital role as an online portal for reporting complaints of sexual harassment at the workplace.
A detailed interactive session was conducted where students were briefed on the step-by-step process of registering a complaint through SHe-Box.
The District Mission Coordinator explained the procedure involved in accessing the platform, entering required details, providing incident information, attaching supporting documents, and submitting the complaint through the online mechanism for prompt action.
The students were encouraged to speak up against harassment, understand their rights, and seek timely assistance. Emphasis was placed on fostering a safe and supportive environment where women and girls feel empowered to report concerns without fear or hesitation.
Highlighting awareness as a key tool for empowerment, the District Mission Coordinator urged students to share the knowledge gained with their peers, families and communities, while promoting a culture of respect, equality, dignity, and safety.
The event reaffirmed the broader objectives of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, particularly focusing on protection, education, empowerment, and equal opportunities for girls, equipping students with practical knowledge about available support and grievance-redressal mechanisms.
The Sankalp Hub for Empowerment of Women, Mission Shakti, Shopian, reiterated its commitment to conducting similar awareness programs across educational institutions and communities to foster a safer, more informed and empowered environment for women and girls.
