JAMMU, JUNE 23: Director Agriculture Jammu (DAJ) Anil Gupta today chaired a review meeting in the Conference Hall of the Directorate of Agriculture to assess the physical and financial progress achieved under the Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) and CAPEX Budget for the financial year 2026–27. The meeting also reviewed the functioning and implementation status of infrastructure projects established under NABARD, CSS, CAPEX, JKCIP, AIF and HADP across the Jammu Division.
The meeting was attended by Joint Director (Extension) Sanjay Anand; Joint Director (SLUB/Farms) Aman Jyoti Sharma; SMS (RL) Krishan Kant; Accounts Officer Vriti Uppal; Mushroom Development Officer Raghubir Paul Kochar; Assistant Agrostologist Narinder Singh; Assistant Entomologist Harvinder Singh; ASCO (I&P) Sanjeev Mehta; Spawn Production Officer Ashu Kakoria; Technical Officer HADP Raj Kumar, besides officers from the Planning, JKCIP and CSS Sections. All Chief Agriculture Officers of the Jammu Division participated in the meeting through virtual mode.
District-wise progress regarding expenditure, achievement of targets, implementation of developmental works and status of ongoing infrastructure projects was reviewed in detail. The Director also reviewed the status of projects established under NABARD, JKCIP, AIF, CSS and CAPEX and emphasized the need for ensuring their optimum utilization for the benefit of the farming community.
The Director exhorted the Chief Agriculture Officers and Scheme Heads to expedite both expenditure and physical progress under CAPEX, NABARD, CSS, JKCIP and HADP strictly in accordance with the approved Action Plans. Taking a serious view of districts registering low expenditure and slow physical progress, he instructed the concerned officers to identify bottlenecks and take immediate corrective measures to achieve the prescribed targets within the stipulated timelines.
The Director called for strengthening public-sector initiatives for apiculture and mushroom development, emphasizing enhanced production, capacity building and effective utilization of available infrastructure.
The meeting concluded with detailed discussions on strategies for improving implementation efficiency, enhancing fund utilization and achieving the targets envisaged under various agricultural development programmes during the current financial year.
