Director Agriculture Jammu reviews Developmental Projects in Udhampur, Reasi

JAMMU, AUGUST 8: Director Agriculture Production & Farmers Welfare Jammu Anil Gupta today chaired a review meeting to assess the physical and financial progress of developmental projects being implemented in Udhampur and Reasi districts under Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS), CAPEX, NABARD and Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP).

The meeting was attended by SMS (RL), Krishan Kant; Chief Agriculture Officer Udhampur, Vikas Padha; Chief Agriculture Officer Reasi, Dolly John; District Agriculture Officer Reasi, Shiv Parshotam Jyoti; District Agriculture Officer Udhampur, Sudhir Manhas; ADO (Vegetables) Udhampur, Vinod Gupta; ADO Udhampur, Pawan Talwar; ASCO Dharmari, Amit Sharma; ASCO Udhampur, Sandeep Gautam; SDAO Udhampur, Ajay Sharma; SDAO Ramnagar, Ashwani Abrol; SDAO Dharmari, Naresh Kumar; SDAO Reasi, Aftab Ahmed Malik, besides technical officers and officers from the CSS and Planning Sections of the Directorate of Agriculture, Jammu.

During the meeting, the Director reviewed the physical and financial progress of ongoing developmental projects, infrastructure creation, fund utilisation, district-wise implementation of the approved Action Plan 2026-27 under CSS and CAPEX and the status of NABARD-funded projects. He stressed the need for timely completion of all approved works while maintaining the highest standards of quality, transparency and accountability.

A detailed review was conducted of CAPEX interventions, including development projects in the public sector under Apiculture and Mushroom, Intensive Vegetable Development Programme (IVDP), development of irrigation infrastructure and adoption of innovative water conservation techniques for small and marginal farmers.

The Director also reviewed the progress of NABARD-funded projects, including the upgradation of Seed Multiplication Farms in Reasi, besides new construction works being taken up under NABARD and HADP. Under the Centrally Sponsored Schemes, progress under RKVY, PKVY, PDMC, ATMA, NFSM and MIDH was reviewed in detail, along with the implementation of Natural Farming projects.

Reviewing the HADP interventions, Anil Gupta directed the officers to give focused attention to projects aimed at promotion of niche crops, area expansion, farm mechanisation and establishment of Hi-Tech Polyhouses. He called for greater convergence among different interventions to maximise the impact of developmental programmes and ensure tangible benefits to farmers.

The Director directed the officers to closely monitor the progress of each project at the field level and ensure that physical achievements remain aligned with financial expenditure. He emphasised that funds released under different schemes must be utilised judiciously and within the stipulated timelines, with proper documentation and adherence to approved guidelines.

Anil Gupta further directed all officers to ensure that every developmental work is executed strictly as per approved plans, specifications and quality standards. He called for regular field inspections, timely identification and resolution of bottlenecks and close coordination between district and Directorate-level officers for expeditious completion of projects.
