Awareness Program on “Svanidhi Se Samriddhi” organised at Anantnag

ANANTNAG, JUNE 27: Municipal Council Anantnag (MCA), in collaboration with the District Administration, organised an awareness programme under “Svanidhi Se Samriddhi” campaign today at the Town Hall, Anantnag.
The main purpose of the program was to promote financial inclusion and strengthen street vending livelihoods.

Addressing the gathering, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Ahlawat said the initiative aims to empower street vendors and boost their incomes. He highlighted that this year marks the sixth year of the PM Svanidhi Mahotsav, which celebrates the resilience of street vendors across India. Under the scheme, vendors are provided collateral-free loans of ₹10,000, ₹15,000 and ₹25,000 to give them working capital and help expand their businesses. Incentives are also available for timely repayment, and the programme encourages digital transactions.

The Chief Executive Officer, MCA informed that 671 vendors in the town have benefited from the scheme and several of those have received credit cards linked to their accounts.

Vendors who spoke at the event expressed gratitude to the government and raised their concerns about space and allocation for vending. The program was also attended by officials of MCA, bank officials street vendors, bank officials, street vendors and others.
