BANDIPORA, JULY 02: The first batch of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY)-2026 pilgrims received a warm, traditional welcome at the Shadipora Transit Camp on Thursday, as Deputy Inspector General of Police, North Kashmir Range, Dr. Vinod Kumar; Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib; and Senior Superintendent of Police, Ajaz Ahmad Zargar, greeted the yatris with flowers and good wishes for a safe and spiritually fulfilling journey.

The officers interacted with pilgrims, enquired about their well-being, and reaffirmed the District Administration’s commitment to a comfortable, hassle-free pilgrimage.

Ahead of the reception, the DC and the SSP carried out a detailed inspection of camp arrangements, reviewing accommodation, sanitation, drinking water, healthcare, electricity, traffic management, and security deployment.

Expressing satisfaction with the preparations made by the District Administration, Police, and line departments, they directed all stakeholders to maintain close coordination, respond promptly to requirements, and ensure uninterrupted services through the Yatra period, upholding the highest standards of hospitality and security.

Pilgrims spoke positively of the facilities and thanked the administration and police for their efforts. The DC reiterated the district’s resolve to ensure the safety, comfort and well-being of yatris through efficient service delivery and inter-departmental coordination.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Zaffar Husson Shawl, SDM Sumbal Murtaza Ahmad Sheikh, and senior officers from the civil administration, security establishment and various line departments were present, actively overseeing the reception and overall Yatra arrangements.
