BHADERWAH, SEPTEMBER 29: An Awareness Programme with a special focus on Artificial Intelligence-enabled cyber-crime was organised today at Government Degree College Bhaderwah by the Jammu & Kashmir Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (JK4C), in association with District Police. The session was conducted by SSP JK4C M.Y. Kichloo.
The programme was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Sunil Kumar Bhutyal; Principal Government Degree College Basharat Iqbal; SDPO Naveed Qazi; DySP Probationer Syed Tahzeem; SHO Inspector Mohd Irfan; along with faculty and students of the college; Principal Government Higher Secondary School, along with teaching staff and students; officers and staff of the civil administration and members of civil society.
Kichloo briefed the gathering on phishing, AI-generated deep fakes, cloned voice calls, digital-arrest frauds and online misinformation. He advised citizens to “Think, Verify and Protect” before acting on any suspicious message, call or payment request and not to share OTPs or banking details with anyone.
The ADC appreciated the initiative and called for greater digital vigilance among students and government employees. SDPO Bhaderwah urged the public to report cyber fraud immediately on helpline 1930 or through the portal www.cybercrime.gov.in.
The programme concluded with an interactive session. District Police and JK4C informed that similar awareness events will be held at other educational institutions and community platforms across the district.
