SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 30: Asif Hamid Khan, Secretary in Jal Shakti Department, superannuated from government service today after rendering 36 years of service in the Jammu and Kashmir Administration.
Joining government service in July 1990, Khan served in several important capacities, including Regional Transport Officer, Kashmir; Managing Director, J&K Tourism Development Corporation; Managing Director, J&K State Agro-Industries Development Corporation; Registrar, Cooperative Societies, J&K; Director General, Libraries, J&K; Director General, JKEDI; and Special Secretary in the Public Works (R&B) and Social Welfare Departments. Currently he was serving as Secretary, Jal Shakti Department at the culmination of his career.
A farewell function was organised by the Jal Shakti Department at the Civil Secretariat here to mark his superannuation.
Additional Chief Secretary, Jal Shakti Department, Shaleen Kabra, while speaking on the occasion, appreciated Khan’s long and varied administrative experience and his contribution to the functioning of different departments.
He remarked that Asif Hamid Khan has had a long and diverse administrative career, marked by experience across several important sectors. His institutional knowledge and understanding of the functioning of government have been valuable assets.
He also appreciated his professional commitment and contribution to the Jal Shakti Department, stating that his experience and cooperative approach have been appreciated by colleagues and officers alike.
The ACS wished him a healthy, peaceful and fulfilling post-retirement life, while expressing hope that his experience and wisdom would continue to benefit society in the years ahead.
Among those present at the farewell function were Special Secretary, Ghan Sham; Director Finance, Shahid Majid Kakroo; Director Planning, Imtiyaz Ahmad Ganai; Additional Secretaries Hitesh Gupta, Chander Parkash and Suheel Ahmad; Deputy Secretaries, Shafqet Ali and Arifa Ashraf; Under Secretaries Sahil Mahajan and Rehmat Ullah, Pvt Secretary, Peerzada Taha Hussain besides other officers and officials of the Jal Shakti Department.
