SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 01: A ten-day residential training program for Food Service Resource Persons (FSRP) under the National Entrepreneurship Campaign concluded in Srinagar today.
Organized by the Jammu & Kashmir Rural Livelihood Mission (JKRLM) in collaboration with Kudumbashree National Resource Organisation (NRO), the initiative aimed to build a specialized cadre to support food-based Self Help Group (SHG) enterprises across the Union Territory.
The training was imparted by mentors from the Centre pool mentors and professionals from Kudumbashree NRO to 50 Community Resource Persons for Enterprise Promotion (CRP-EPs) nominated from all districts of Jammu & Kashmir. Following the program, these participants will be certified as Food Service Resource Persons.
Addressing the gathering during the valedictory session, Mission Director JKRLM, Dr Shubhra Sharma said that today marks an important step in creating a dedicated support ecosystem for food-based enterprises under the National Entrepreneurship Campaign. The FSRPs will serve as a critical bridge between our women-led enterprises and the technical, managerial and market support they require to grow sustainably, she added.
“I am confident that this trained cadre will help translate the learning from this programme into better quality, improved practices and stronger food enterprises on the ground. Through Umeed Ka Zaika, our endeavour is not merely to create a brand, but to build viable and sustainable livelihoods for rural women across Jammu & Kashmir,” she said
Mission Director further added that the focus now has to be on taking this knowledge beyond the training room and ensuring that it creates visible improvements at the enterprise level. From food safety and standardisation to costing, packaging, branding and market positioning the FSRPs can play an important role in helping women entrepreneurs strengthen every aspect of their businesses. This will also enable us to move from capacity building to sustained handholding and enterprise growth, she added.
The closing ceremony was attended by key officials, including Additional Mission Director, JKRLM Kashmir, Syed Naseer; State Programme Manager (Non-Farm), Yasir Bhatt; State Programme Manager (Farm), Dr Rayies Ahmad Gojri; State Programme Manager (Monitoring and Evaluation), Navamani Hans, alongside representatives from Kudumbashree NRO.
It is to mention that JKRLM and Kudumbashree NRO previously signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish women-led food service enterprises under the UT brand Umeed Ka Zaika. This training represents a significant step toward strengthening community-led food entrepreneurship across Jammu & Kashmir.
