Srinagar: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, P K Pole on Tuesday said that militants have lost the ability to target big security installations and are now out to attack soft targets.

He said that these killings are aimed only at instilling fear among the minorities.

“I can tell you that the security situation in Kashmir has improved a lot and is not same as was a decade ago,” he told protesting KPs at Shiekhpora Budgam.

Later, during his visit to Veesu, he assured the protesting Kashmiri pandits that all their service related issues will be resolved within a week.

“All the protesting KPs here are employees. Being employees they have certain service related issues. We have noted all their service related issues from the labor commissioner,” he said.

Pole also assured protesting KPs that besides service related issues, their all other demands will also be fulfilled.

“The work on the residential quarters for Kashmiri pandit employees is going on at war footing basis. Many such quarters have already come up,” Pole said. (KNS)
