COVID: J&K reports 269 fresh cases, no deaths

'Srinagar records 79 cases', active cases 2,213 in J&K

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Tuesday reported 269 fresh cases of Covid-19, pushing the number of active cases to 2,213 while no more death was reported in the UT in last 24 hours and death toll stands at 4,779.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 269 new cases, 218 belong to Kashmir division while as 51 to Jammu division.

He said that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir have reached to 302,997 including 298,740 recoveries and 2,432 deaths, while total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 173,447 including 170,712 recoveries and 2,347 deaths.

He further said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 2,213 including 1,825 from Kashmir division and 388 from Jammu division.

With 349 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in J&K has reached to 469,452 which is 98.54 percent of the total cases.

“Among the fresh 269 cases today, 79 are from Srinagar, 22 from Baramulla, 38 from Budgam, 09 from Pulwama 12 from Kupwara, 15 from Anantnag, 11 from Bandipora, 01 from Ganderbal, 29 from Kulgam and 02 from Shopian in Kashmir division while 51 are from Jammu division that include 31 from Jammu district, 01 from Udhampur, 00 from Rajouri, 02 from Doda, 02 from Kuthua , 00 from Samba, 06 from Kishtwar, 01 from Poonch, 08 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” said the official.

As per the daily information bulletin 6,699,126 persons in J&K are under observation while 157 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides 2,213 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 6,691,613 persons have completed the surveillance period and 364 persons are under home surveillance besides so far results of 26,383,139 samples are available.

“Out of 26,383,139 the number of samples tested negative stands at 25,906,695 while 476,444 have tested positive, among them 2,213 cases are active, 469,452 have recovered and 4,779 persons have died,” it added—(KNO)
