Promotion of offbeat destinations, Sustainable tourism our priorities: Fazl-ul-Haseeb

Srinagar: Director Tourism Kashmir Fazl-ul-Haseeb sets out his priorities of maximizing potential of existing tourism places, promotion of offbeat destinations and sustainable tourism across Kashmir.

Speaking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), he said that the unexplored areas and off beat tourist destinations that have huge tourism potential would be promoted besides maximizing potential of existing tourism places while the sustainable tourism will be also in his priority for maintaining sanctity of the places.

He further said that after COVID-19 tourism industry got boosted in Jammu and Kashmir and the highest number of tourists was recorded in Jammu and Kashmir while the department is working to increase the number much more.

He said that there has been a considerable improvement in situation since last three years and in this regard, the film industry will not have any problem in coming here as a lot of new locations have been explored and tourism sector is being developed sustainably and the film tourism will be a major part of it.

The film industries are very keen in coming to Kashmir, he added.(KNS)
